Crazy Sheep!

I've created this topic to show you all a strange thing that happened in a league game, in which I played against johnmir.

Apparently, after the explosion the sheep didn't bounce on anything, just went with a very high vertical speed towards the floor. And, for our surprise, hurt 95hp.

Playback at 595 seconds.

Cheers!

I've been testing it since that and it never happened again.

The worms with jetpack or rope can have more damage since it does not need bouncing, but not the worm who is being attacked!

Could you explain a bit what you said, Pink? I'd like to read your view.

Simple. It's fall dmg. The blue worm fell on the other worm (bounce on him), and then touched the ground. If the red worm would not stand there --> no fall damage, But bouncing on worms is like bouncing on walls. You can see the blood on the ground after the sheep explodes and he flying down.

Here is a replay, almost same height, one gets 45, other 56 because of worm bounce fall damage (or whatever you wanna call this :P)

Good job Kayz. I thought what Kayz explained is called worm damage, but I looked it up now. I guess it's speed damage, here is some chapter taken out of Dario's Worms Normal School:
Worms Normal School wrote:But maybe you didn't know that it can also happen when a worm hits the ceiling with enough vertical speed, this is why I am going to refer to it as "speed damage" instead of "fall damage". Then for speed damage to happen you need 3 things:
1- A worm succeptible to speed damage.
2- The vertical component of the speed has to be high enough.
3- Hit a horizontal surface of a pixel.

As I mentioned before, many weapons (dinamite, mines, granade, etc) do not make the worm succeptible to speed damage, then there are some sure ways of turning the worm into that state:

* Make it slide on the floor before falling.
* Make it hit one of the vertical sides of a pixel.
* Make it hit another worm.

Oh well... yeah you're right. I didn't consider that.

Thank you both. :)

Yeah I meant speed damage, that was the word :). But speed damage is a kind of fall damage in my opinion. The damage just gets higher (therefore 95), if the worm is damn fast, so it's added to the usual fall damage of the height. I don't know how exactly it's added though.

I think I don't know another fitting topic. So I post this weird sheep here.

First it gets stuck and then in the last seconds it continues (for no reason Oo) and gives me the win.

Yeah, weird indeed.

But I already give up of trying to understand details of the animals behavior, like this.
Sheep, sometimes, is a very strange animal, and we must respect it. jijiji

Jijiji sounds good to me then. Yep they behave very random, small jumps, big jumps, cows even jump from edges or don't or turn at wall with 5% chance or whatever. They got an own will ;o
